Refund policy

The 7-day trial

Every new account gets a 7-day free trial with full access. We don't take card details up front, so there's nothing to refund if you decide the product isn't for you - just stop using it and the account expires.

Monthly subscriptions

You can cancel any time from Account Settings → Manage subscription (Stripe Customer Portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period - you keep access until that date. We don't pro-rate refunds for unused days in the month you cancel.

Exception: if you cancel within 14 days of starting a subscription and haven't materially used the service (no sets recorded, no mixes mastered, no mixes published), email us at support@makingwaves.live and we'll refund in full. This matches the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 right to cancel digital services.

Annual subscriptions

Annual plans save you ~12.5% in exchange for committing to the year. Same 14-day "haven't materially used it" refund window as monthly. After that, you can cancel the renewal but the current year stays paid - we don't refund mid-term unless we've materially failed to deliver the service (extended outage, removal of a tier feature, etc.).

Top-ups and credit packs

One-off hour top-ups and mix-analysis credit packs are non-refundable once redeemed. If you bought a pack and haven't used any of it, email us within 14 days and we'll refund. After any of the credits are spent, the remaining balance is non-refundable.

Service failures on our end

If MakingWaves is materially broken in a way that prevents you using a feature you've paid for - prolonged downtime, a tier feature stops working, mixes you publish through us are dropped by Mixcloud / YouTube due to our error - we'll refund or credit you proportionally. Get in touch.

Disputed credit-card charges

If you file a chargeback with your bank without contacting us first, we'll respond to Stripe with the usage records and contest it. We'd much rather you email us first so we can sort it out without involving the card network. Genuine "I didn't make this charge" disputes are handled as fraud cases - we'll refund and investigate.

How to claim

  1. Email support@makingwaves.live with the email address on your MakingWaves account.
  2. Tell us what you'd like refunded and why - one or two sentences is fine.
  3. We'll respond within 2 working days (UK hours). Approved refunds land back on the original card via Stripe within 5-10 working days.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
